GymDJ is a website / blog that features music to workout with. Music will be posted about three times (or more) a week and based on that song’s beats per minute (BPM) I will add the song to its appropriate workout category. The BPM chart I use is listed below:

  • Warm up / Cool down : 90 – 100 bpm
  • Running : 120 – 160 bpm
  • Boxing : 122 – 140 bpm
  • Cycling : 130 -  170 bpm
  • Lifting : 140 – 170 bpm

The official GymDJ policy is:

About Jonathan

Jonathan @ GymDJTo begin with, my name is Jonathan and I live near Chicago, IL. I am a websites designer that likes to workout. I have always worked out with music and find that I am very bored at the gym without it. I started my gym membership junior year of high school and have always had one since then. During sophomore year of college I gained about 20 pounds and had the gut to prove it. I began to exercise, lost the weight and was re-introduced with the gym again.

With my profession I sit at the desk for 8 hours a day so I’ve put on some weight but not as much as during college due to smarter food choices. I am 5’11’’ with a current weight of 200 lbs. I want to track measurements other than just weight so that will be posted soon.

I am a fan of most kinds of music. I’ve played the guitar for 17 years and recently bought DJ equipment so I can spin live as well as make mixes for GymDJ.com.
